I heard on the radio that I am living in Paradise on earth

Thank God it is Friday. The week did go quickly but it has had its share of issues. The weather is going to be really good, at least for this time of the year. Sunny and in the low 50's. Whooo-Hooo!!!

Drew and Jess both have games in Saydel today. Drew plays at 4:15 and Jess at 6. I won't be able to make it to Drew's game but should be able to get there for the 6:00 tip off for the girls.

It will be better when Drew is in high school and the games aren't so early.

I have a conference call this morning but it shouldn't take too long. The rest of the day is open, which is good because I do have some office work to do.

Jess has a game Saturday afternoon here in Perry. Both kids have games on Monday.

I am really behind on my grading for my classes and will have to spend some time getting caught up. Right now it is a mess. I need to get organized and caught up.

Here is what I want......

This Spring/Summer whenever...one weekend. I would love to have Mom and Dad, Jodee and Paul, Jon, Angie, Jenny and their families come to Perry, stay at my house. Bar-BQ on the grill and hang out for a day. I realize it won't probably ever happen but that would be a good thing.

As we get older, we just don't seem to have the time for things like this anymore. With kids schedules, busy lives, work and everything else, it takes a funeral or a wedding for families to get together.

I would imagine we will all get together next year when Anthony, Chelsey, and Jess graduate.

Ok, off to start.

Not the most tired I have been but still pretty tired

Weather is on the upswing. It is going to get to 40 today which will be really nice. I have been getting really tired of the cold and wind.

Class went well last night. I got through the material quickly and then let them go. We were out before 9 which was very early for a Thursday night.

When I got home Jess has a group of kids over and they were working on homework. The have an AP US History test and the group came over to study. I was tired and went to bed before they all left so I didn't talk to Jess last night.

Drew got the spacer thing out of his mouth yesterday so that is good. They also tightened his braces so his mouth is a bit sore. Today is his last basketball practice so the season is coming to an end.

My cold is getting a little better and I think Drew's is too.

A couple of meetings early this morning and then nothing the rest of the day. No plans tonight so it will be a good night to sit and watch a little TV.

Not much else going on so I will head out to start my day.

5 hour energy....Yeah, that sounds about right

It is a cold start to the day. I thought we were in store for a warm-up so either it is later in the week or the weather people are lying again. At this point I could really care less.

Drew gets the spacer thing, that has been in the roof of his mouth for the last few months, out today. He has an appointment early this morning so he will be heading out right after practice.

Jess got another letter from the University of Minnesota yesterday. They are ranked 9th in the nation in woman's track this year. It is quite a program. I am going to have Jess send them a response this weekend. They email her all the time so she can reply to them via email.

I am working on a track video. The University of Nebraska wants us to send one to them.

One meeting at school today and then I go to Urbandale for another meeting at 3 or 3:30 then off to teach class....whoo-hoo!

I need the weather to get better soon and that stupid ass groundhog saw his shadow.

Both kids have games Friday and both are away. Drew is in DCG and Jess is at Saydel.

And with all that....the world keeps on spinnin

It is back to being really, really cold. I think the TV said -20 to -30 degrees (Wind Chill) today until noon.

Class went well last night. Nancy covered for me for a little over an hour so I could go watch Jess play. Thanks again Nancy.

I had one girl stay until 9:35 or so to do her homework because she doesn't have a computer at home. I was home pretty close to 10.

One meeting today at work. It is another conference call with a web interface. Not a big fan of sitting in these plus setting it all up and then putting all away after.

Drew's team lost last night. He played on and off in the A game and played almost the whole B game so at least he got plenty of action. The team isn't very good but I am going to work with him this off season. I think he has the potential we just have to fine tune it.

The girls lost their game last night as well. Jess played well. She lead the team with 17 points and had 14 rebounds. We have become a selfish team with a couple of the girls just shooting every time down the court whether they are open or not. One girl in particular just can't stand it that Jess is the leading scorer. She won't pass the ball to her if she thinks she has a chance to score and just throws up three pointers as soon as she touches the ball. I think she was 1 of 12 from the three point line last night.

There are no activities tonight so it will be good to be home. The high school is putting on a choir show called Jukebox. It is kind of a cool thing. Jess is going to that, it starts at 7.

Drew is getting my cold. I can hear it in his voice and he said his throat hurts.

My cold still sucks but gets a little, and I do mean just a little, better every day.

Off to start.

Chest Cold From Hell

Weather is ok today. 20s I think and then maybe a warm-up by Thursday. I don't think any snow is in the forecast.

I have a terrible chest cold. Saturday I slept 18 hours or so. My head, throat and chest hurt like hell and I just felt exhausted. I took medicine and stayed in bed pretty much the whole day.

Yesterday I was a little more active but still felt like crap. The good thing was I could function a bit.

Today a little better but my chest still hurts and I have a dry, painful cough.

Jess has a game tonight here in Perry. I teach but I have an assignment for them to do and I am going to go watch the game.

Drew has a game tonight here in Perry as well. His starts at 4:15 so I shouldn't miss any of it.

It is going to be a busy week. I know I have a bunch of meetings this week plus teach class and games. The good thing is we have nothing on Tuesday so I will have a night that I will be home early.

Superbowl - The Steelers beat the Cardinals. It was a good game.

There is more that went on this weekend but I just don't have the gumption to go into it.

Off to start.
