Lets create a new word that rhymes with orange

It is good to be to the end of the week. It has been a long and drudging kind of week that I felt like I have been walking across a muddy field trying to get to the other side. Each step was a struggle.

The weather is rainy and will be for the next week. At least it is going to be in the upper 40's and 50's. It is also the first day of spring.

Jess made it to Denver. She has been sending me text messages and pictures from her phone. I don't have texting on my phone but I can receive and send them through email.

Drew and I hung out last night and played a little basketball. He is feeling full of energy lately so I need to harness it and keep him active.

I don't have any meeting scheduled for today and just a few loose ends to tie up so I am hoping it will be a nice and easy day at work.

Still headache free so that is good. I can't believe how miserable I felt when my head was hurting. I literally thank God everyday that I wake up without that pain.

I am going to do something fun with Drew this weekend but I am not sure what yet. I thought about a movie or take him out to eat but I am going to try to think of an activity that he would enjoy. If it were baseball season I would take him to an ICubs game but they haven't started up yet. I will try to think of something.

Ok, the weekend is on the horizon so I am off to greet it.

Just pick up the trash and be happy you have a job

The goose is on her way to Denver this morning. They left at about 5:30 and are driving to Omaha to take a flight to Denver. The cost of the flights from Omaha to Denver were around $200 round trip. To fly out of Des Moines would have cost close to $600.

It is going to be "The House of Men" here for awhile. Me and Drew are going to do guy things this weekend. Maybe eat some ribs and watch action movies.

The weather has been pretty good lately. Yesterday was really nice. I am not sure what the high was but it was a good day. Today I think the high will be in the low 50's. It is the last day of Winter....whoo-hoo!

We are interviewing two people today but I should be done by lunchtime. It is going to be good to be done with that because I have nothing planned for the rest of the week. I plan on coasting into the weekend.

My headache is GONE!!!! It is wonderful! I really had a nice night last night. I watched tv, had the kids around me, drank a little wine and felt good. When you have a migraine it really makes you appreciate the times you feel good.

I am not sure what is going on this weekend. Hopefully the weather will be good and I can get some yard work done. I also need to clean the garage and get caught up on my grading.

It is the last couple of days before our spring break so I am anticipating it to be relatively slow. People are just wanting to get to the weekend.

Off to start.

Clutching my head with both hands

Wednesday and the weather is holding up. It is supposed to be a little rainy today but I think it will still be in the 50's.

I had a huge migraine last night and had a terrible time trying to sleep. I think I finally got rid of the severe pain around 3.

My head isn't great right now, it is still a dull ache and my vision is blurry. I hate headaches. With some luck I will get through the day without any more pain.

Both kids were home last night which was nice. We watched tv and hung out. My head was killing me but it was good to spend an evening with them. Jess leaves for Denver tomorrow morning.

Not much else to talk about. I feel kind of in a fog with my head so I will try to get myself together and write more tomorrow.

Off to start

This space for rent

The weather is really good this morning. It was 51 degrees when I got up. I hope it continues.

Class went pretty well last night. I am glad to be done for awhile. I am behind on grading so I will have to spend some time over the next week getting caught up. I have my evening free until Wednesday of next week!!! Whoo-hooo!!

Drew did well in his TSA competition last night. His team got first place in the first round of the quiz bowl and then lost in the second round. He built a bridge for this physics deal and he won! His bridge held the most weight so he got first place.

Jess' track meet went pretty well. She got 1st in her heat of the long jump and I think finished 10th out or 80 girls. The Sprint med got 6th out of 64 teams and had a pretty good time. She ran a 59 or 60, 400 split which is really good for this early in the season and for an indoor meet.

The 4x400 didn't fare as well. The got 7th in their heat, but they were in a fast heat. They ended up 12th out of 64 teams. It was ok but Jess didn't have that good of a time 65 I think but on her last half lap, two girl walked across the track in front of her and she had to stop or run into them. WHAT THE HELL!!

The indoor meets are kind of like that, it is confined an people cross the track all the time and there are always the stupid people who don't pay attention to anything other than their own reflection. Anyway it was still a pretty good outing.

We are interviewing for a director position today and Thursday. I have to go do the interview this afternoon and then it will take all morning on Thursday. We have 4 candidates. I am rather indifferent about this position so whatever.

Jess has DARE role model this morning but I am not really sure what that means. She leaves for Denver Thursday morning early.

Ok, off to start the day.

Getting out of bed is the hardest part

The weather is going to be good today and nice the rest of the week. 60's and 70' from what the liars are telling me.

When I was a younger man than a I am today. I would go out and carry on like most younger people do, and some that are older than I am now but never moved on, and when I woke up the next morning, I felt like nature was punishing me for my over indulgences. I guess it was a fair, although I wouldn't have agreed to it at the time, and even trade-off.

These days, I wake up with a similar, nature is punishing me feeling, without the indulgence. What the hell is that all about?

The weekend was long and exhausting. Class went well this weekend. I actually got out of there by 1:45 on Saturday. It was the earliest I have been out so far.

After I finished class I came home and packed and we went to Davenport, Iowa for the volleyball tournament. They played Sunday all day. When I say "all day", I mean "all day". We played 7 matches over the course of 12 hours.

The girls did well, the didn't even loose one game and won the tournament. We finished up around 8 something and got home around 10:45. It was a long day and I am a little worn out this morning. The coffee is helping.

I teach tonight, the last one before the official "spring break" begins. Jess has a track meet at ISU tonight. They leave school at 2:30. Drew has a TSA competition here in Perry. He is in the bridge building competition and the knowledge bowl.

Most schools in Iowa are on spring break this week. Here in Perry we have to wait one more week before we start. Jess will have a short week. Today, she leaves early for the track meet. Tomorrow she misses half a day to be a DARE role model and she goes to the elementary for half the day. Wednesday we have early out and she leaves for Denver Thursday.

Time is flying. I getter get at it before it passes me by.

Off to start.
