Enjoy the little things....Sometimes that is all you have

This is a Friday I can enjoy! It is going to be nice and sunny with a high temp in the upper 50's or low 60's. I don't have to teach class and there are no activities. Whoo-hoo!

I don't have any appointments or meetings today which is also good and it is another day closer to summer break.

There aren't any plans for the weekend. Marsha is having an Easter dinner at her house so we will go to that and Drew has requested deviled eggs (a traditional Easter dish at our house).

I think I will try to burn some sticks and leaves from the yard. We have open burning here in Perry during certain times of the year and this is one of those windows. It started April 1st.

Next week, Jess has track meets on Monday and Thursday. Monday in Carroll and Thursday, here in Perry.

It was warm enough last night that I was able to cook on the new grill. I bought a bunch of chicken kabobs last night. They had them 10 for 10$. They were marinated in BBQ sauce and turned out very well. They were very tender and good. We had the kabobs, chicken flavored rice and broccoli with cheese sauce. Not too bad for a Thursday night.

Jess had volleyball practice last night and Drew had TSA.

Ok, off to start. (I am in a good mood on a Friday for the first time in a month)

I am a big fan of electronic books (e-books)

The weather is finally cooperating. It is going to be a nice day today and yesterday was nice as well.

Class went well last night. I had them take a re-test and I made it open book since they all did poorly on the first test. The material was kind of intense so it was a good time to do an open book test.

Jess had a track meet on Tuesday. There were 12 teams and the stadium was tiny. It was a crowded mess and it wasn't very organized. The weather was ok but it was cold. Since it was a boy/girl meet and they had 12 teams, it took forever. Jess last event started at 9:15 and there was still 3 more events after hers.

She had a good meet. Second in the long jump but she had a pretty good distance. She got first in the 400 with a 59.9 and first in the 800 with a 2:28 and then they won the spring medley relay, she ran the anchor and had a 400 split at around 59.2.

She doesn't have another meet until Monday.

Drew has been practicing track and then going to baseball after that. He is still doing TSA as well so he is keeping busy. I think his first track meet is next week. I am not sure about baseball.

It is very good to be done with the weekend classes. I talked with my boss at DMACC yesterday and I am scheduled to teach next fall on Monday here in Perry and Wednesday at West campus so it is the same as this term.

I have one meeting this morning and then nothing on the calendar for the rest of the week. Whoo-hoo!

Trash day and the weather is good for the ladies.

Off to start

I think Tuesday is Monday's little brother

Class went ok last night. Everyone was present so that was a good thing. It is a hassle when a student is absent because of the make-up work and the getting them caught up stuff.

Jess has a track meet today at PCM. It is over an hour away. They have 10 teams at the meet, it is Boy/Girl and JV. The last event is scheduled to run at 9:30. I hope Jess doesn't run that event. I will leave as soon as she is done. I would imagine it is going to be cold too. I checked the weather and it is supposed to be 48 at 7:00 so that should help.

Drew has baseball practice tonight. He has been dead set on getting a Playstation 3. The dang things are very expensive but he wants he has some money and has jobs lined up for summer. I guess he has a goal at least. It just seems to me to be a waste of his hard earned money.

This week has felt like a weight has been lifted off of me. I think it is because the weekend class is over. I can't tell you how happy I am to have to work two nights a week now and have the weekend free.

Easter is this weekend and it has kind of snuck up on me. The year is moving pretty quickly but there are times it seems like every day is an eternity. I am really looking forward to summer.

OK, off to start.

It does no good to curse the weather but I do it anyway

We got a bunch of snow yesterday but not a lot of it stuck. The cement is clear but the grass has probably an inch left on it. It sucked. I hate the cold and am sick of it hanging around. Enough said about that.

It was good to finish up my weekend class. I am so happy to not have to worry about teaching on Friday night and Saturday morning anymore. I have to say it went quick but dang, it sure kills the weekends. I am looking forward to Fridays again.

Jess took her ACT Saturday so that is done. Drew spent the night at a friends house Friday for a birthday party.

Not much else going on. I was so tired on Saturday that I went to bed at 7:30 and slept until 6:30. That doesn't ever happen so not sure what the deal was.

Jess is supposed to have a track meet tomorrow. Not sure the weather will allow it but I guess we will wait and see.

off to start.
