Lazy days of summer, my ass!

So I read in the Lincoln Journal Star that good ol' Exeter, Nebraska is getting a new pool.

Oh, the memories that pool brings.(imagine a thought cloud over my head as we journey back in time) The skinny dipping incident where some idiot jumped off the high dive, naked as a jaybird causing the neighbors to call the police. The spot light being shined on the water from the patrol car and running like damn fools through a field, completely naked. Somebody running into a clothes line and damn near decapitating themselves and then everyone ending up at our house.

Hey mom, remember that one?

They actually had pictures of the pool in the article. Kind of cool. By the way, if you see those pictures, notice the fence. I think I have the Olympic record for climbing over that damn thing the night of the incident.

It is good that today is Friday. I have had trouble sleeping at night and have been up at 3:30 to 3:45 the last two morning. NOT a good thing. I am hoping that this weekend will bring good sleep. At least on the weekend I can take a nap.

Last night was the last night of golf league. The weather was perfect and it was a good time. After the week I have had, it was nice to be out in a place that seems peaceful. The guys were were supposed to play, forfieted so we just played for fun. We just played and drank a little beer and relaxed. It was something that I needed.

I am hoping to do a video blog this weekend.

Off to start

Is it possible to live life in a drunken stupor?

So I had a bit of insomnia last night. I have been up since 3:30AM and that kind of sucks.

I did get to watch an infomercial about the digital tv mandate. Remember Feb 17, 2009!

Work is crazy and the teachers are all back to that just magnifies everything by 1000.

The weather has been rather cool and we had a bit of rain last night. The kids are enjoying their last days of summer. They start next Wednesday.

I have my full staff back and they are all working hard to get all of our systems running before school starts. We have a lot of work to do but the problem is the limited amount of time we have to do it. Such is life I guess.

I can tell when I am really busy and worn down because when I get home, I don't feel like having a beer or a glass of wine. You see on tv and the movies when people have a bad or long day, they come home and have a drink to settle down. That doesn't work for me. When I am stressed and come off a long day, if I have even a little bit of liquor, I would be asleep before 6:30.

I tend to eat instead. I would probably be much better off drinking but my addiction is unhealthy food. Whatever!

Off to start my day and continue my tightrope walk of sanity.

There really is something special about the Olympics.

So I was reading in the Lincoln Journal Star that the average size of a town in Nebraska is 320 people. WOW! I guess Exeter is a bit of a big city so to speak. You guys have a Caseys and everything.

The weather here is gloomy. I think we are going to have clouds and rain throughout the week. It is cool (in the upper 70's). I am not sure I can remember August having this many days of temps in the 70's.

Lots of work as always. Went in early last night and came home a bit late. Today there are a bunch of loose ends to tie up and then the teachers come back tomorrow.

School starts a week from Wednesday and then summer is officially over.

The kids have their school supplies and school clothes. I paid the school fees and they have lunch money. I think we are set.

We have been watching the Olympics every night. It is kind of fun but I am not big on Diving or any of the horse stuff. Tonight we have gymnastics and get to see Iowan, Shawn Johnson perform. I hope she does well.

Off to start the day!

Spending the day with the kids

The weather here has been very good. Sun shining, warm but not too hot and low humidity. I guess this is a time to be thankful of the weather.

Drew and I played in a golf tournament in the morning and Jess and I played in the afternoon. 9 holes with Drew. We did pretty well. He was hitting the ball well and my chipping and putting was going pretty well so we did ok. Jess and I played 18 holes and the first 9, we both sucked. As a matter of fact, I wanted to quit after the first 9. We finally go Jess to hit the ball clean and I started to really hit my drive so the last nine went pretty well. I think we will do it again next year.

So 27 holes of golf is a lot. I am stiff and a little soar this morning.

We have to go to work today at 6:30. The admin center is moving and they want to start by 7. Kick ass!

Oh well. I guess it is a good thing I am a morning person.

I have to contact our tenants today. They haven't paid their water bill either so the city sent me a note saying if they don't pay, the water will be shut off to the house.

Great!

Off to start. I am sure there will be plenty to talk about this week.
