More Snow!

It seems that we are going to get another snow storm. Last weekend we got a little over 8 inches of snow and a nice layer of ice below so it was a real mess. The streets are finally getting back to normal and the weather report is for more snow today and tomorrow. Currently our last day of school is June 4th. I hope we don't get any more snow days to push that back even further.

Jessica had a nice birthday yesterday. She started her day going to school early to lift weights. She is required to do that three days a week for track. She also has wieght lifting class three days a week in school so she is on her way to being Mrs. Atlas. Anyway, I took her to lunch at Breaduex pizza. They had a buffet and it was awesome. Since it was a weeknight and I had taken her to lunch we plan to have a birthday dinner sometime this weekend.

Drew has a basketball tournament this weekend. This is the one that got snowed out last weekend so we are hoping the weather improves so we can play our games Friday. I asked Drew if he wanted me to take him to lunch in December for his birthday and he said he would rather eat lunch with his friends at school. Nice! Picture me choking him like Home Simpson does to Bart.

I teach class tonight so I am hoping the weather holds off so I can have the class. I don't want to extend it another week. Work has been busy as usual. I seem to have too much work and not enough time. Once I am done teaching class and coaching it should help. It will free up some night for me to get caught up on work -- How sucky is that.

Miss you all.

Snow Days

We had a snow day yesterday; Monday, Feb 26. The kids were happy again. Actually, Drew would have rather had school yesterday. It was a PE day and they are roller skating. He likes that and wanted to go to school. Jessica was just happy to be sleeping in.

Speaking of Jessica. Her birthday is Wednesday and she recieved her birthday gift yesterday. Her one wish was to had Tivo in her room! The Directv guy came yesterday and installed it. Now she is recording like crazy and doesn't have to worry about missing her favorite shows because of practice or some other activity she is involved in. The bad news is, I will probably never see her again unless I want to go sit in her room with her.

I am not sure what the coming week will bring but I am sure it will be filled with some sort of drama, a bit of laughter, some anger, frustration and eventually a drink to help me sleep.

Have a great week.

What? It's Friday

WOW! Where has the week gone? The week has really been very busy and I haven't had time to get my blog updated and here it is Friday already. Thank God!

The weather has been pretty awesome the last couple of day, in the 50's. The bad news is the weather is going to take a turn for the worse this weekend. I think we are supposed to get 4 to 8 inches of snow Saturday night into Sunday.

Drew has a basketball tournament this weekend so it could get interesting.

Jessica is still chugging along in track. I think it is getting easier for her it is just the transition from basketball to track that she needed to get through.

I teach class on Tuesday and Thursday nights and the classes are going well. Some of the students really struggle on a computer but that is why they take the class I guess.

On the work side of life. We had a server crash yesterday and I spent all afternoon trying to get it back in service. The Internet was down during this process so it was major drama for the students and staff. I really hate those times it is stressful and frustrating but that is why I get paid the big bucks....NOT!

Jessica's birthday is less than a week away. The big 15! She wants a seafood meal for her birthday dinner. I am not sure what that means but it shouldn't be too big of an issue.

I miss everyone and think of you all every day.

Tuesday

Well, I saw the most disgusting family on TV last night that I think I can ever imagine. They were from Iowa and on Wife Swap. In case you missed this intriging episode, let me recap. This family, did I mention they were from Iowa, lived on a farm in BFE. There lifestyle was founded in the premise that sanitation and cooked food was like poison. They lived in filth and ate only RAW food. This would include raw meat-chicken being a family favorite.

The theory here was that there are good and bad bacteria. If you clean, you are killing the good bacteria that can potentially keep you healthy. A sign of good health they point to is their "stools" are much better since switching to the raw food diet. They brushed their teeth with a butter/clay mixture and pretty much grossed me out for about an hour. Kind of like watching a train wreck. You are horrified but can't look away.

In family news, Jessica started track practice yesterday and walked through the door last night uttering the words "kill me now!". I did not see Drew at all last night. He went to a HS basketball game and didn't get home until after I fell asleep.

Today I am a proctor for the Ford AAA autoskills test. It is a computerized test that is done kind of like ACT but not on such a grand scale. It is for our High School industrial tech students and it qualifies them for a national competition. Anyway I have some setup stuff to do for the test this morning. It starts at 9 and should last about an hour.

Other than that, life is moving along like always.

Have a great day today!

A New Week Begins

The weekend went pretty well. Saturday was kind of a lazy day, which was very much needed. Sunday we spent the day in Manning Iowa watching a volleyball tournament. Jessica did well. They are a young team and are going to be strong in the future but have some challenges this coming year. The team is all sophmores and freshmen but they have good talent and play well together. They only won 2 games but had a lot of fun.

Monday always kind of stink but the weather seems to betting better. I think it may hit 40 today. WHOOO-HOO!!!

I have some new picutes I will post later this week.

Finally ------- Friday

It seems like the week has flown by. The kids have had a pretty good week. School is closed today for teachers in-service so they really only had one full day of school this week. Monday was a late start for snow, Tuesday closed for snow, Wednesday early out, Thursday was a full day and today they are off.

I found out last night that we did not get into the Colo basketball tournament this week. That is a real stinker because the boys were really looking forward to playing.

The weather here still stinks. Cold is the current theme and that theme is getting pretty old.

I am going to start updating the pictures on the site but it seems that I don't have a lot of pictures of the kids in any type of electronic format. I will scan some and get them posted and I will also take some pics with the digital camera and get those posted as well. I also changed it so you can post comments without having to be a registered member. GO AHEAD -- Post a comment.

I hope everyone is doing well. Have a GREAT weekend!

Recovery

We made it through Valentines day. The high school becomes a giant flower shop and it takes almost all of the office staff to sort, organize and deliver flowers and balloons to students. The nice thing is the office smells awesome but it really is a bit of a mess.

Jessica is on a sports hiatis this week. She finished basketball on Monday and doesn't have to report to track practice until next week. It has been a nice break for her and she is trying to be as lazy as possible. Drew has a basketball tournament this weekend in Colo, Iowa. I am coaching the team and we have about 12 players. We play the following weekend in Boone, Iowa and then we are done.

I am currently teaching a couple of adult education computer classes. One on Tuesday about how to use the Internet and one on Thursday on office applications. I definitly get to meet a lot of unique individuals thought these classes.

That's all for today. Check back tomorrow for more of the saga of Rich.

oh! Training yesterday sucked!
