I was sitting on the beach less than 72 hours ago

Back from California and it is Monday. UGH!!!

The trip was pretty awesome. We had long training days but we were able to go out and do stuff at night and that was good. I took some pictures so I will get them posted this week.

It seems like it has been a long time since I have put anything on the blog site. So much has happened it is hard to get it all caught up. Here is the readers digest version:

-New superintendent started last week.
-Softball coach has public fight with a parent and submits her resignation
-"Lupita" the maid at our hotel in California was not happy after my first big breakfast
-Drew and Jess both playing well in baseball and softball
-Flight to and from California was an adventure
-Went to the following beaches: Huntington, Newport, Laguna, San Clemente
-Drove in some pretty terrible traffic in California and experience a "SigAlert"
-Wondered if people poop in the ocean
-Still have scooter issues
-Hardy's is called Carl jr in California

So it is back to work today. Not really looking forward to it but at least it is summer break and there shouldn't be many people bothering me today.

Ok, off to start

Goin back to Cali....wooo-hooo

Well the weather is still hot and humid but it is the Friday before I head out to the no-humid state of California.

The softball team got their first win last night. Jess played well, she had 2 hits. One was a single and the other a double. She drove in 3 runs.

They play in a tournament this weekend at Ames. The games today are at 1 and 2:30. I won't be able to see them. Tomorrow they play in the morning and then at 1 or 2 so we will be done early.

Drew had a game yesterday and they lost but he played well. He had a couple hits and an RBI. He is loving the scooter. He drives it around everywhere. We are still waiting for the dealer to get a number so I can get it registered but he can drive it in-transit for awhile.

The weekend will go quick. Saturday the tournament and then my flight leaves Des Moines at 6:30 am on Sunday. I will be getting up around 3 am that morning.

It seems like I have much to do before we leave but everything seems to always work out in the end.

OK, off to start my day.

Thursday - Trash day

The weather was better yesterday. The humidity was a bit lower, still a bit unpleasant but much better than what it was the day before.

Today it will be humid and warm. Drew has a freshman baseball game today in Dallas Center. Jess has a softball game tonight, not sure where.

The softball team played in Carroll last night and lost 5-3. It was close and another game they could have one if the coach would pitch our best pitcher. I am beginning to think she wants to lose.

I am getting ready for the trip to California. I leave Sunday and I can't wait. The weather will be good and getting away will keep me sane.

Drew rode his scooter to practice yesterday. He has his permit to drive it and I made a custom flag. We also put an In-Transit" tag on it. So he should be good to go. The things has been dying once in awhile but it ran well for him yesterday. It makes it easier with cell phones. He can call if he has trouble.

Dental appointment today but nothing else on the agenda.

Hope everything is going well for everyone.

Off to start.

It's the little things that get you

The weekend was wet and then hot and humid. Today really humid.

Drew had a baseball game and the team lost. I think the ten run rule came into effect. Jess played in a softball tournament and they lost all of the games and came in last place. 12th out of 12 teams. The coaches are blaming the players for not being "focused".

The latest excuse the coaches had were blaming the girls for having boyfriends. They said this is distracting them. I guess the teams that kick our ass are all lesbians. Whatever!

Both kids have games today. Drew's team is actually ok. They win more than they lose. He plays first base and does a good job.

Yesterday I worked like a dog. Pulled out bushes in the back yard and halled them to the burn pile out at Gene's. I also mowed and had the kids help me clean gutters (They were gross).

I leave for California Sunday and I am really looking forward to it.

Off to start.

Been up 10 minutes and already need a nap

It has been hot and sticky the last couple of days. It is good to have air conditioning.

Last night we had a strong thunderstorm come through. It happened late so I was in bed and missed it.

The softball team lost another game last night. We lost to Adel 8-0. We are not very good. Jess plays ok but we just don't have good batters. We had 5 errors and 1 hit. You can't win games with that stat.

A meeting this morning and then Drew has a baseball game at home and Jess has a softball game at home.

The softball coach told the team the reason they lost last night was the varsity girls went and watch the boys JV for about 15 minutes before their game and that showed they weren't "focused". blah blah.

I think it is supposed to storm today with a high in the 90's.

Off to start.

Will the AC come on this week?

It was a pretty good weekend. Jenny and Matt came for a visit. We had a good time.

Friday afternoon we had a softball game and it rained the whole time. I think it is my first time watching an entire softball game under an unbrella. The night game was canceled.

Jenny came Friday night. They brought Tucker so it was an adventure with Molly but things worked out. Tucker is a great dog.

Saturday Matt and Jenny headed out to adventureland with their kids. I went to Drew's baseball game and Jess had day two of her tournament in Urbandale. Both teams lost but Drew's game was pretty good and he played well.

Drew and I headed to the softball tournament for the last game. The girls lost but Jess hit a triple that was about 5 feet from being a home run. She was thrilled.

Saturday night we grilled out. It was late when we all got home but the food was good. Micky came over and ate with us. The little kid were sleeping when Jenny got back so they took them to bed. I stayed up until midnight chatting with Jenny. It was nice.

Sunday I gave them a tour of the high school and middle school. We rode the scooter and hung out. They left a little after noon. It was good to see them and I was very happy they came. Molly has been looking for Tucker since they left.

Drew has a freshman game today and Jess plays at home tonight. Our superintendent is leaving at the end of the month and they are having a golf outing for him today. I haven't swung a club in over a year so it should be interesting. It is 4 person best ball so I hope I have a good player on my team.

I have some pictures for the blog, I will try to get them posted this week.

Off to start.

Noah on speed dial

It was a wet and rainy weekend. The thunderstorms last night turned into a tornado to our west about 20 miles. It was north of Grimes.

The baseball game and softball tournament were canceled. The weekend was kind of a bust. I think we will have clouds and maybe some rain into Wednesday and then it is supposed to get nice.

Yesterday I had the mother of all headaches. It was a killer. It hurt so bad it actually made me puke. I went to bed at 7 and stayed there the rest of the night. Misery!

I am feeling better today but have a bit of a headache hangover. I hope it doesn't come back, I really can not live like that.

Drew has his first high school baseball game today. He plays here in Perry at 11. I think it is double header. I may stop over and watch a bit of it. He also has a Junior league game tonight at 6 and Jess has a softball game here in Perry.

I get my eyes checked today. I haven't had them checked in a couple years. I have been using contacts from like 5 years ago. It will be good to be able to see again.

Jess and Drew both start the summer weight lifting and practice schedule. Jess had to be at weight lifting at 6:30 this morning. She just left and was a bit grouchy about it.

Drew has weight lifting a 8:00 this morning. They both have basketball practice every morning after weight lifting. Jess will have volleyball as well starting next week. Drew has football 7 on 7 every Sunday night.

Jess thinks Drew should have to weight lift at 6:30 with her. Like I said....Grouchy.

Off to start.
